Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a critical role in implementing and supporting plant and corporate safety policies and initiatives. You will be responsible for diagnosing equipment malfunctions, determining root causes, and initiating both immediate and long-term corrective actions. Your role will involve the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment in supporting Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost (SPQRC) initiatives.

ResponsibilitiesImplement safety and good housekeeping standards.Train, develop, and evaluate employees.Comply with terms of local and national labor agreements and support divisional and corporate policies.Initiate contact with others outside of the work group when required to solve problems.Implement planned maintenance activities.Complete work assignments within budget, manpower, and timing constraints.Establish, implement, and maintain long-range plans for improvement of maintenance activities.Provide technical assistance to the manufacturing departments supported.Support plant in achieving safety, people, quality, responsiveness, and cost goals.Work any assigned shift, including daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as required.Support and implement the QS9000/ISO14001/(GMS) Global Manufacturing System compliance processes.Essential SkillsTroubleshooting and maintenance technician skills.Maintenance supervisory experience.Experience in supervising a multi-trade workforce.Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts.Additional Skills & Qualifications2-year completed Technical Diploma or 4-year completed Electrical Engineering University Degree, or licensed Electrician/Millwright.High level of analytical ability for complex problems.High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This role is based in a high-pressure environment, focused on maintaining high standards for PM numbers, quality, and safety records. You will collaborate with Unifor hourly employees to meet demands effectively. The dress code is business casual, with most contract supervisors wearing golf shirts, button-up shirts/blouses, and slacks/khaki pants. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is also required.

This is a Contract position based out of OSHAWA, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.25 - $34.50/hr.
