**Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor**
**Job Description**
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing day-to-day direction, supervision, and coaching to the team to meet site objectives and goals. This role involves monitoring progress and directing activities to ensure the productivity of personnel concerning timeliness in diagnosing and completing necessary maintenance and repairs. The supervisor ensures a well-functioning preventative maintenance program and reviews site performance measures and key results, taking appropriate actions when necessary. Furthermore, the position maintains good labor relations, morale, and discipline in the shop, initiating corrective actions when required, and ensures personnel follow all GMP and safety policies.
**Responsibilities**
+ Work with accountability group(s) to accomplish key results and 5S strategy.
+ Maintain, repair, adjust, and operate 10 palletizers including all allied electrical and mechanical systems.
+ Troubleshoot and repair all related packaging machine problems with competent speed and accuracy.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, schematic drawings, and manufacturer's instructions.
+ Determine materials and supplies needed to accomplish maintenance and repair tasks.
+ Instruct other personnel in the proper performance of their duties as required.
+ Responsible for the Packaging Technicians work schedule to ensure adequate production coverage.
**Essential Skills**
+ 5-10+ years of experience as a maintenance supervisor.
+ Experience in a food and beverage or GMP environment preferred, but other manufacturing backgrounds will be considered.
+ Open to candidates from trade schools in the first 3-5 years of their career looking to enter manufacturing.
+ Skills in electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, preventive maintenance, PLC troubleshooting.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Maintenance management and supervision experience.

**Work Environment**
The role is located at a large, industrial facility spanning multiple buildings with a history dating back to the 1920s. The facility features multiple packaging and bagging lines in a multi-story building. Employees enjoy a high retention rate, with many having worked there for upwards of 40 years. The position includes a rotating shift schedule of days and nights, requiring flexibility. There are approximately 300 hourly employees who are union members, with new employees required to join the union after 90 days. The shifts rotate weekly: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am. While the ideal candidate will be able to work the rotating shift, there is flexibility for those with strong experience.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
