Job Description
The Packaging Maintenance Supervisor leads the packaging maintenance team in maintaining, repairing, and upgrading all packaging systems. This role involves collaborating with engineering and packaging teams to schedule major repairs, install new equipment, and support the qualification of packaging equipment. The supervisor also prepares maintenance checklists and procedures for the equipment used in the packaging area.
ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day direction, supervision, and coaching to the team to achieve site objectives and goals.Monitor progress and direct activities to ensure productivity in diagnosing and completing necessary maintenance and repairs.Ensure a well-functioning preventative maintenance program.Review site performance measures and key results, taking appropriate actions.Maintain good labor relations, morale, and discipline in the shop; initiate corrective actions when required.Ensure personnel follow all GMP and safety policies.Work with accountability groups to meet KPIs.Maintain, repair, and adjust all packaging lines and mechanical systems as required.Troubleshoot and repair packaging machine problems with competent speed and accuracy.Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, schematic drawings, and manufacturer’s instructions.Determine materials and supplies needed for maintenance and repair tasks.Instruct personnel in the proper performance of their duties.Manage the Packaging Technicians' work schedule to ensure adequate production coverage.Ensure adequate spare part inventory to minimize downtime during breakdowns.Work in a safe and responsible manner to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace.Comply with all job-related safety and other training requirements.Keep management informed of area activities and significant problems.Essential SkillsPackaging and electrical troubleshooting skills.Supervision experience in a pharma equipment environment.Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment like compression (tablet press), blenders, and encapsulation machines.Pharma documentation skills, following SOP and GMP guidelines to perform and document work.Ability to diagnose and correct operating issues with packaging machines and allied equipment.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, SAP, and Outlook.Understanding of 480-volt equipment and troubleshooting controls voltage, DC applications.Ability to lead assigned teams in a continuous improvement environment.Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of 3 years maintenance experience required; 5 years preferred.Minimum of 2 years experience in a packaging operation.Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.Automated equipment controls experience.Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs and standards.Demonstrated strategic thinking skills; able to develop and execute long-term plans.SAP/Syspro experience is preferred.Project management experience, especially in major repairs, is preferred.Why Work Here?

The work environment includes exposure to lab and plant floor settings, as well as a standard office environment with controlled temperature for heat and air conditioning. Employees are required to wear applicable personal protective equipment, including safety glasses/goggles, hairnets, lab coats, and safety shoes.

This is a Permanent position based out of North Brunswick, New Jersey.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
