The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for the routine and preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing and packaging equipment in a union facility. This position requires experience in a food, pharmaceutical, cannabis, or high-speed packaging environment. The opportunity is a one-year contract with the likelihood of transitioning into a full-time position.
ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment.Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.Conduct reactive maintenance and repairs as needed.Ensure equipment operates efficiently within a high-speed packaging environment.
Essential SkillsJourneyman Red Seal Millwright or 3rd/4th year Apprentice.Experience in manufacturing and maintenance.Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.Ability to perform preventative and reactive maintenance.
Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the food, beverage, cannabis, or pharmaceutical industry.Previous night shift experience.Familiarity with working in similar environments, such as Trophy Foods, Sofina, or Cargill.

Work Environment
Join a facility that manufactures dairy products and operates within a colder environment, with building temperatures ranging from 1 - 4 degrees and a freezer at -19 degrees. The workplace promotes a strong community culture, employing up to 230 people, including 20 on the maintenance team. Shifts are 12 hours, working nights from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a schedule of 5 on/4 off, 5 on/5 off, and 4 on/5 off. Training will occur on days, then afternoons, before moving to night shifts. Overtime is available, with a maximum of 20 hours per week, paid at time and a half.
