**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Lead**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic Lead who will be responsible for repairing, installing, and maintaining equipment, machinery, buildings, and facilities. The ideal candidate will quickly respond to production line calls, ensuring production personnel are informed about the status of machinery and repairs. The role involves operating and observing machinery to test performance, while troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment in the production department.
**Responsibilities**
+ Repair, install, and maintain equipment, machinery, buildings, and facilities.
+ Respond promptly to production line calls to update production personnel on machinery status.
+ Operate and observe machinery to test performance.
+ Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment in the production department.
+ Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication tasks as needed.
+ Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
+ Ensure plant machinery operates at peak efficiency.
+ Assist in training maintenance and engineering personnel on plant equipment.
+ Complete requests for repairs and installations with minimal interference to production operations.
+ Support the company's mission, vision, strategic plan, and management decisions.
+ Maintain commitment to global food safety initiatives.
+ Follow and understand standards for food safety and quality production.
+ Report potential contamination, suspicious activity, food safety, and quality problems immediately.
+ Work directly with the maintenance manager and other mechanics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
+ Evaluate and recommend improvements in methods, procedures, and processes.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of 2 years' experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
+ At least 1 year of experience in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC, and HVAC.
+ Experience with lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control, and packaging equipment.
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
+ Knowledge of basic electrical, mathematical, mechanical, and plumbing skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, contracts, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to properly use a forklift when trained and certified.
+ Familiarity with food production, food manufacturing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, Allen-Bradley, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine operation, food safety, document control, automation, robotics, conveyor maintenance, PLC control.

**Work Environment**
The work environment involves hands-on training with opportunities for learning and development. Initially, candidates will start on the 1st shift during training from 5AM to 1PM, with flexibility depending on circumstances, and then transition to the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2PM to 10PM. The dress code requires clean jeans, a T-shirt, and work boots, with no jewelry, sleeveless shirts, or nail polish allowed. Uniforms will be provided once the employee transitions to a permanent position.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poughkeepsie, New York.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $45.00/hr.
