Maintenance Mechanic Lead- 2nd Shift
**Location:** Itasca, IL **Schedule:** 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday–Friday (Some Saturdays as needed) **Pay:** $26.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience) The Maintenance Technician (MT) performs highly diversified duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machines, equipment, and plant facilities. This includes scheduled, unscheduled, or emergency repairs. The MT also performs regular preventive maintenance (PMs), ensuring all supporting documentation is maintained accurately. We are seeking a hands-on, safety-focused technician with 2–3 years of plant maintenance experience. Experience in food manufacturing is a strong plus. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** + Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment such as conveyors, carton formers/sealers, film forming machines, printers, palletizer robots, metal detectors, packaging equipment, and refrigeration systems. + Support production, packaging, assembly, and warehouse operations with timely maintenance. + Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities and maintain accurate documentation. + Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). + Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMPs, OSHA, and SOP requirements. + Communicate effectively with supervisors, leads, and production staff. **Qualifications** + 2–3 years of plant maintenance experience (required). + High school diploma or equivalent (technical/trade degree preferred). + Experience in food manufacturing maintenance (preferred). + Knowledge of AC/DC drives, 3-phase electrical systems, motor controls, and PLC troubleshooting. + Welding and fabrication skills a plus. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accurate record keeping. + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. **Physical Demands and Work Environment** + Ability to lift/move up to 60 lbs. + Work may include standing, bending, crouching, climbing, and working at heights. + Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving machinery, chemicals, outdoor weather, and heat. **What’s in it for me?** + Competitive pay ($26–$28 per hour). + Leadership opportunity in a growing food manufacturing facility. + Exposure to cutting-edge equipment and technology. + Professional development and training opportunities. + A culture focused on safety and continuous improvement.
