Job SummaryEMCOR Government Services is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a complex of buildings totally approximately 350,000 square feet in Washington, DC. The Maintenance Mechanic shall assist the Lead Engineer or Maintenance Engineer with the engineering operations and mechanical/electrical maintenance of the facility under the general direction of the Lead Engineer.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Lead Engineer, the Maintenance Mechanic shall:
Assist with the operation of all building systems in a safe and efficient mannerAssist with assigned preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, capital alterations and utility tasksAssist with the maintenance and repair of the building's heating, ventilation, air conditioning and associated controls and other building mechanical equipment such as air-handling units, heat exchangers, pumps and cooling towers.Make minor mechanical alterations as required to the air conditioning equipment, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning controls, and other mechanical equipment.Attend to requests for service adjustments and other trouble callsAdjust, install and repair pipes, fixtures, vents and traps in plumbing systems in accordance with local codesPerform preventive maintenance, equipment lubrication and daily inspections in accordance with a well defined programInstitute corrective action and/or inform the Lead Engineer of any deficiencies found in the course of performing the jobOperate and maintain fire prevention equipment sanitary equipment and domestic water equipmentPerform minor painting as requiredMaintain sewage systems
