Work is performed in accordance with all applicable state and local codes and program regulations. This role supports apartment communities by maintaining safe, clean, and functional living environments for residents.ResponsibilitiesPerform building and grounds maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, drywall, painting, flooring, exterior masonry, and landscapingClean, repair, and prepare vacant units for occupancyPerform preventive maintenance and routine inspectionsRespond to maintenance requests and complete work orders accurately and timelyUse hand tools, power tools, ladders, and shop equipment safelyInteract professionally with residents, landlords, public officials, and staffFollow all safety procedures and maintain compliant work practicesParticipate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to after-hours emergenciesQualifications and RequirementsHigh School diploma or GED plus three (3) years of building and grounds maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experiencePrior experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, cabinetry, drywall, painting, and flooringAbility to obtain and maintain EPA certification for refrigerant handling within one year of employmentValid driver’s license with ability to remain insurable and travel locally between propertiesAbility to prepare accurate documentation and work from sketches or instructionsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds, perform light to heavy manual labor, and work in adverse weather conditionsStrong safety awareness and attention to detailAbility to work professionally and courteously with diverse individualsAbility to use Microsoft Outlook and internal software systemsMust be available for rotating 24/7 on-call emergency responseBenefits and PerksCompetitive hourly payCompressed four-day workweek (Monday–Thursday)Medical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and paid holidaysLife insurance and short-term disabilityTuition reimbursementRetirement and deferred compensation programsYour New OrganizationThis organization administers housing assistance programs that provide affordable, decent, and safe housing to low- and moderate-income households throughout Lake County. The base salary for this position is up to $20.50/hr. based on experience, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation.
