**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description**
Join a dynamic and growing manufacturer specializing in high-end chocolates, popcorns, and specialty snack foods. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of equipment in a small but expanding company. The ideal candidate will be proactive, innovative, and ready to take ownership of the maintenance operations.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform proper preventive maintenance techniques.
+ Ensure equipment is ready for production start-up.
+ Repair worn out or damaged equipment.
+ Modify and fabricate equipment as needed.
+ Demonstrate knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
+ Follow all safety rules and practices.
+ Perform work at company standards for techniques, speeds, and efficiencies.
+ Develop and implement maintenance procedures for equipment.
+ Innovate to improve efficiency, safety, up-time, and reduce maintenance costs.
+ Lubricate equipment with understanding of various requirements.
+ Perform basic welding and cutting of metals.
+ Train personnel on autonomous maintenance and minor repairs.
+ Complete work orders and Preventive Maintenance (PM) documentation.
+ Keep maintenance spaces and parts/equipment clean and organized.
+ Maintain storeroom inventory.
+ Maintain equipment bill of material as assigned.
+ Read and interpret equipment manuals, safety rules, and instructions.
+ Communicate effectively in writing and orally.
+ Work safely around automated and semi-automated machinery.
+ Perform housekeeping duties according to Company SOPs before equipment is returned to production.
+ Perform all other work as required.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Minimum High School diploma or GED required.
+ 3+ years of mechanical manufacturing experience preferred.
+ 3+ years of maintenance experience preferred.
+ Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
+ Knowledge and ability in MIG and TIG welding strongly preferred.
+ Ability to read and comprehend mechanical drawings.
+ Understanding of a multimeter.
+ Basic math skills.
+ Effective reading, writing, and communication skills.
+ Basic understanding of GMP and food safety.
+ Compliance with attendance policy.
+ Basic computer skills and aptitude.
+ Teamwork skills.
+ Ability to work safely around food allergens.

**Work Environment**
The work environment requires safety shoes, hairnet, and beard net. GMP practices are observed. Expect exposure to noise, dust, oils, and allergens.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monroe, WA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
