Start: $37.80/hr
16 weeks: $38.55/hr
6 months: $39.34/hr
Position SummaryA Maintenance Mechanic shall be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of mechanical systems and equipment on the site. This shall include ensuring the safe and efficient operation of pumps, valves, compressors, fans, bathroom facilities, and other critical mechanical equipment within the site. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, troubleshooting skills, and adherence to strict safety protocols.
Key ResponsibilitiesPreventative and Corrective Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on various building systems, plumbing, mechanical, fire and life safety, security, and building automation systemsPerform repairs, adjustments, and replacements of malfunctioning or defective components and systemsRespond to facility-related emergencies and provide immediate troubleshooting and repairsSystem Management:
Perform plumbing maintenance and repairs, including fixtures, drainage systems, and water linesOperate and maintain storm water systems and powerhouse boiler systems and equipmentSteam System and Storm Water Plant Operation:
Operate, maintain, clean, adjust, and repair high-pressure steam boilers and auxiliary componentsInspect boilers and pressure vessels to locate defects, such as leaks or weak spotsConduct standard chemical analyses of boiler water and take corrective actions as neededOperate valves to maintain required amounts of water in boilers, adjust supplies of combustion air, and control fuel flowRepair or replace defective pressure vessel partsInstall, connect, and adjust various boiler controlsOperate, maintain and administer the storm water plant and operationsGeneral Maintenance and Repairs:
Repair or replace door hardware, wall fixtures, and other building componentsMaintain and repair various types of equipment and machinery, including pumps, motors, compressors, fans, and moreRecord-keeping and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and inventoryGenerate reports on equipment performance, energy consumption, and maintenance needsSafety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including OSHA standardsParticipate in safety inspections and ensure compliance with building codes and environmental regulationsEnsure proper ventilation in boiler rooms to prevent the buildup of hazardous gasesFollow strict safety protocols when working with high-pressure steam, including proper PPE usageCollaboration and Communication:
Communicate effectively with building occupants, management, and other team members regarding maintenance requests and project progressCoordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or servicesRequired Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience in facilities maintenance or related tradesStrong knowledge of building systems, including plumbingProficiency in using a variety of hand and power toolsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of and experience with steam generation, distribution systems, boilers, furnaces, and auxiliary systemsDemonstrated experience in the maintenance and repair of steam and condensate distribution systems, including pipes, valves, and controlsProficiency with Lockout/Tagout processesPreferred Skills & QualificationsValid driver's licenseOSHA Safety CertificateForklift operation certificationAdvanced experience and/or certifications with medium and high-pressure steam systemsQualifications and training as determined by Mechanical Supervisor for boiler and storm water operationsExperience with building automation systemsAdditional trade certifications or technical trainingThis position does not provide visa sponsorship. Estimated compensation for this position:
75,608.00 – 78,686.40 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
