Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role involves maintaining and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment, ensuring efficient operations in a busy manufacturing environment. Working hours are primarily from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with additional hours if production demands. There is also overtime available on Saturdays.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with operation manuals and manufacturer specifications.Utilize mechanical skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic troubleshooting, and repair of packaging and production machines.Conduct emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment as needed.Perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.Ensure compliance with company quality and safety requirements.Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers in a professional and friendly manner.Complete simple math calculations and follow verbal and written instructions to perform specific tasks.Work independently and as part of a team productively.Follow safety practices and be safety conscious.Properly use tools and equipment to avoid damage, loss, or injury.Clean job site and work area daily or more often, as needed.Verify tools and equipment are maintained, clean, secured, and stored properly at the end of each shift.Watch for and report any unsafe working conditions.Use designated safety equipment and ensure that work in progress and the job site are protected.

Essential Skills

3+ years experience working with voltages up to 480V.Ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.Experience in troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs.Competence in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical maintenance.Mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, including welding, punch press operation, and PLC troubleshooting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with mills, lathes, and drill press.Tool and Die experience.Experience repairing punch press, cartoners, tapers, winders, and roller machines.

Work Environment

The maintenance team is responsible for the mechanical and electrical upkeep of industrial machines, including punch press, rewinders, thermoforming, and cartoning machines. This role involves a mix of 50% mechanical and 50% electrical tasks and requires knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs. The work environment is loud, and candidates should be comfortable working in such conditions. The team oversees four facilities, with 85% of the workday dedicated to preventative maintenance and machinery repair, while the remaining 15% is spent on building maintenance and small projects. Maintenance only operates on the 1st shift, consisting of 12 maintenance employees.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
