We are seeking for an industrial maintenance technician for a large metal recycling plant in Salt Lake City.

The maintenance mechanic will perform repairs on large scrap shredder machinery including conveyor tracks, rollers, air systems, gear boxes, etc. Will also perform other tasks to keep machinery running such as clean pipes, chisel out parts stuck in shredder, lots of shoveling.

This is an outdoor position and the maintenance mechanic will spend the majority of their shift working outdoors and must be comfortable working through the seasonal elements.

The maintenance mechanic will operate forklifts, skid steers, and perform basic welding tasks.

SHIFT: Night shift Schedule: 5:00pm - 3:00am

PAY: : $21 ($21 is the base pay plus incentive bonus 50-70% weekly bonus, which will be the equivalent of $30-34/hour)

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Industrial Maintenance Experience: Proven experience in mechanical repair and maintenance, preferably in a heavy industrial or recycling environment

-Millwright Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery

-Heavy Equipment Operation: Proficient in operating forklifts, skid steers, and other heavy equipment

-Welding & Fabrication: Basic welding skills (MIG, stick) and ability to perform minor fabrication tasks

-Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, shoveling, and working in confined spaces

-Outdoor Readiness: Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions

-Safety Focused: Strong commitment to safety procedures and protocols

-Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience using a front-end loader, excavator, forklift, skid steer or scrap handler in an Industrial/Outdoor Work Environment

Ability to work standing or walking for up to 12 hours per day

Ability to walk up several flights of stairs and work at heights above one-story

Knowledge of heavy-equipment operating principles

Ability to operate equipment under varying working conditions

Stable work history

Candidate must be willing to submit to a drug and ba ckground screening.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
