Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic responsible for performing primarily mechanical repairs on equipment. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing conveyor systems, including swapping out drives and 3-phase motors, as well as working on mobile equipment such as forklifts and skid steers. Tasks include replacing hydraulic hoses, light fabrication, and changing hydraulic cylinders. Mechanics will also change out blades and augers on shredder machines, with a focus on preventive maintenance (PM) over reactive maintenance (RM).
ResponsibilitiesPerform mechanical repairs and troubleshooting on conveyor systems.Swap out drives and 3-phase motors.Conduct maintenance on mobile equipment such as forklifts and skid steers.Replace hydraulic hoses and perform light fabrication work.Change hydraulic cylinders, blades, and augers.Perform preventive maintenance on conveyor systems and mobile equipment.Document all PMs and make notes on visual inspections for future planning.Change belts on conveyor lines, swap out head pulleys, and change bearings.Essential Skills4+ years of mechanic/industrial maintenance experience from auto mechanic, millwright, or industrial maintenance experienceGeneral hydraulic and pneumatic experience, including swapping out hoses and replacing o-rings.Experience performing PMs on equipment, including checking fluid levels, greasing bearings, and visual inspections.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to troubleshoot 480v 3-phase motors.VFD and PLC/electrical troubleshooting experience.Experience troubleshooting and repairing mobile equipment such as cranes and yard trucks.Computer skills for documenting maintenance activities.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This role is based in an indoor/outdoor facility specializing in metal recycling, primarily non-ferrous metals. Be prepared to work in a dusty, dirty, and loud environment. The typical shift is from 7 am to 3:30 pm with the expectation to work at least 45 hours a week, including occasional mandatory Saturdays. Steel-toed boots are required, and the company offers reimbursement for them.
