Job Description
The House Mechanic is responsible for performing a broad range of mechanical (millwright) maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of plant equipment. This role involves hands-on work with machinery, including inspection, repair, refurbishment, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with production teams.
ResponsibilitiesConduct inspections, part replacements, alignments, balancing, installations, and refurbishments of mechanical equipment.Perform advanced troubleshooting to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently.Develop a thorough understanding of the operating principles and process roles of assigned equipment.Apply knowledge of equipment function and application to optimize performance and minimize downtime.Work closely with production personnel to understand operating parameters and ensure maintenance interventions are appropriate and effective.Provide feedback and recommendations to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency.Perform a variety of joining and fabrication tasks including welding, cutting, brazing, and soldering.Weld carbon steel using SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) processes.Weld stainless steel using the SMAW process.Essential SkillsProven experience in mechanical maintenance or millwright work.Proficiency in welding techniques and fabrication methods.Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsTroubleshooting, Maintenance technician, Hydraulics, Preventive maintenance, Welding.Experience using mechanical skills to repair equipment.Knowledge in Electrical, Mechanical, Repair, Pneumatics, Blueprint, Schematic, Hand tool, Industrial, Heavy equipment, Construction, Fabrication, Maintenance repair.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The position is based in a factory environment around large industrial equipment. There are two different seasons: Campaign Season and Out of Campaign Season. Currently, during the Out of Campaign Season, the work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm, focusing on repair work and maintenance. The Campaign Season runs from August 15th into May, depending on the weather, where sugar beets are processed. During this season, technicians work on a 4-week rotating schedule. The schedule includes alternating day and night shifts, ensuring balanced work hours.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $68224.00 - $80000.00/yr.
