**Maintenance Mechanic** Currently hiring Direct Placement/Permanent Maintenance Mechanic's in the Hammond, IN area. Hiring immediately. **Job Description** + Repair and maintain industrial machinery such as conveyors, shrink wrappers, stackers, ovens, sorters, power transmission, and palletizers. + Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems. + Perform MIG and Stick welding on steel materials. + Swap out AC/DC motors at 480V and perform basic electrical tasks. + Work around PLC systems. + Interpret and work from blueprints and diagrams. + Realign and adjust mechanical components. + Cut, thread, and install new pipe. + Implement lockout/tagout procedures. **Essential Skills** + High School Diploma + Experience in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of production equipment. + Proficiency in working with hydraulics. + MIG and Stick welding skills. + Ability to lift 50+ pounds. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Apprenticeship or certified training in relevant fields. + Familiarity with pneumatic systems. + Experience as a millwright. + Preferred certifications or schooling. **Work Environment** The work environment is within a paper mill that specializes in manufacturing burrito bowls and drink carriers. It is not temperature regulated, requiring candidates to be comfortable working in varying hot, cold, and warm conditions. The shift schedule rotates between three shifts: 11p-7a, 3p-11p, and 7a-3p, with rotation details provided. Required attire includes steel-toed boots, work uniform, safety glasses, and a hair net. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $76128.00 - $76128.00/yr. USW - Union Benefits.
