Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency of machinery and equipment by conducting regular inspections and testing. This role involves diagnosing problems through observation and interaction with supervisors and maintenance workers, dismantling defective machines, and installing new or repaired parts. The Maintenance Mechanic also performs cleaning and lubrication of machinery components, maintains pipe systems, and operates machine tools to repair or fabricate parts.
ResponsibilitiesVisually inspect and test machinery and equipment.Listen for unusual sounds from machines to detect malfunctions.Discuss machine operations with supervisors to diagnose issues.Dismantle defective machines and install new or repaired parts.Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment.Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine.Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.Maintain a safe and organized work station and follow all safety rules.Essential SkillsTroubleshootingSchematic readingRepair skillsElectrical expertiseMechanical skillsWelding proficiencyElectrical troubleshootingAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED from an accredited institutionMinimum of 5 years’ experience in a heavy industrial environmentExperience working on machinery including CNC machines, grinders, hydraulics, and pneumaticsElectrical backgroundWork Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
