**Maintenance Mechanic** Currently hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic in the Hammond, IN area. Hiring immediately. **Job Description** + Maintain and repair all mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems of plant machinery. + Perform minor repairs of rotating and reciprocating equipment; assemble, disassemble, remove, install, clean, and lubricate parts such as shafts, bearings, gears, and pulleys. + Repair or replace gauges, valves, regulators, and other components of hydraulic, pneumatic, and other fluid-powered equipment or mechanical systems. + Perform work through the work order system and record work performed and materials used. + Operate lift trucks and powered lifts as required. + Hydraulic and Pneumatic Repair Experience + 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience + Experience with fitting and threading piping + Electrical troubleshooting skills + Welding skills **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Own tools + High School Diploma or GED Equivalent + Driver's License + Nice to have: Electrical wiring, Welding, Automotive experience, Technical Degree **Work Environment** The position is on the 3rd shift, with training on days for the first 4 months (7 am-3:30 pm). Candidates can expect to work an average of 50 hours per week with the opportunity to work up to 60 hours per week if desired. The role involves working both indoors and outdoors in a chemical facility or water treatment center, but not outdoors in snow or rain.
