Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd ShiftJob Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Hendersonville, North Carolina location, who will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing plant and production equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and completing work orders.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain and service mechanical equipment, machinery, and components.Use hand and power tools as required.Perform repairs and maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment along with building systems.Conduct periodic equipment inspections and evaluate requests for repair.Identify and order parts needed for replacement.Monitor the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment to ensure optimum usage and quality.Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.Schedule and coordinate installation support and service operations.Complete all work in accordance with established safety procedures.Maintain equipment manuals, complete work orders, inspection reports, and document work hours.Be accountable for food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements.Report actual or potential food safety issues to management.Adopt and maintain all SQF requirements.Collaborate with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues.Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Essential SkillsTroubleshooting skills.Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatics, and electrical systems (120vac-480vac).High school diploma or equivalent.Detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task.Excellent time management skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.2+ years of Industrial/Manufacturing mechanic experience.
Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the food/beverage industry, manufacturing, or medical/pharma is a plus.Experience with pumps, gear boxes, and valve repairs.Experience with mechanical, pneumatics, and electrical maintenance.Experience with automated equipment repair and troubleshooting is beneficial.

Work Environment

The work environment is a very clean food supplier facility. It can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The facility operates under GMP conditions, requiring safety glasses, steel toes, hair and beard nets, with no jewelry allowed. Nail polish is acceptable, but fake press-on nails are not permitted.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
