Maintenance Lead
**Job Title: Maintenance Lead** Job Description This is an entry-level position in maintenance that involves handling facilities shoveling. Tools will be provided onsite. The role operates on the 1st shift from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with voluntary opportunities for overtime on weekends (4-8 hours). Responsibilities + Coordinate with other departments and outside contractors during normal operations, improvement, or equipment upgrade projects. This includes departments like Environmental, Health and Safety, Engineering, Waste Water Treatment, and Manufacturing. + Coordinate and work with Safety & Regulatory compliance agencies. + Direct the maintenance P.M. program and general repairs. + Supervise the maintenance staff. + Manage the department budget and parts inventory. + Train and develop mechanics. Essential Skills + Hands-on experience in pipe fitting, welding, electrical work, and general equipment repair. + Excellent communication and computer skills. + Fork Truck operation skills. + Availability for off-hours work (past 3 pm, weekends) as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or GED. + Must demonstrate attendance and reliability. + A desire to learn the maintenance field. Why Work Here? The environment involves mixers filling up 5,000 lb vats and packagers with hoses and valves, with a noticeable chemical smell. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ferndale, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
