Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will diagnose and troubleshoot problems with company equipment, including production equipment, warehouse bay doors, electrical systems, and heating and cooling systems.

You will perform preventative maintenance, such as lubrication of machines and conveyor belt replacement. You will perform changeovers on production line equipment to ensure efficient setup and minimize downtime during production runs.

Additionally, you will communicate repair status and needs to co-workers and supervisors, complete necessary paperwork, order parts, and maintain parts inventory.

Work Environment

The position involves working the 3rd shift from 11 pm to 7:30 am in a high-speed bottling plant that fills plastic bottles and cans.

The facility is climate-controlled, clean, and well-maintained. Employees will also work in a brand new Blow Mold Facility and may need to walk between facilities in varying weather conditions. As a food-grade facility, hair and beard nets are required in certain areas.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with production equipment and systems.Perform preventative maintenance according to established guidelines.Adhere to company policies and safety standards.Perform changeovers on production line equipment to minimize downtime.Communicate equipment repair status and needs with co-workers and supervisors.Complete preventative maintenance records and other required paperwork.Order parts and maintain parts inventory.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop.Work assigned schedule and perform overtime as needed.

Essential Skills

Experience with electrical systems up to 480V.Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Industrial maintenance experience on production equipment.Proficiency in motor repair and gearboxes.Experience with conveyor systems and preventive maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in bottling and plastics preferred but not mandatoryFamiliarity with ladder logic and VFD preferredAbility to work with filling systems

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
