Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician with the expertise to troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment and systems. A strong ability in root cause analysis is essential to effectively eliminate recurring failures.
ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot AC/DC motor controls, 3-phase power distribution, and industrial machine controls with or without a schematic.Wire transformers, drives, motors, and other industrial electrical equipment.Interpret PLC ladder logic and troubleshoot electrical control systems including PLC, robotics, servos, drives, and touch-screens using a laptop, with brands such as Allen Bradley, GE, and Siemens.Demonstrate basic knowledge of facility building utility systems, including boilers, chillers, and air compressors.Maintain required records, including maintenance work orders, PLC program documentation, and electrical drawings.Participate in new equipment electrical installation and upgrades.Assist in training other technicians and maintenance staff.Respond to plant emergencies promptly.Adhere to company standards and safety regulations by identifying and correcting unsafe conditions when appropriate.Essential Skills3-5 years of experience in industrial electrical controls or educational equivalent.Ability to stand and/or walk 90% of an 8-hour day, which includes climbing ladders or steps.Meet vision and hearing requirements.Pass written and practical electrical tests.Trained in Electrical Arc Flash Safety and Lock Out Tag Out.Experience with preventative maintenance of controls and electrical equipment, including 3-phase electrical systems.Working knowledge of the National Electric Code.Ability to fabricate and wire electrical panels and terminal boxes.Proficiency in reading and updating electrical and pneumatic schematics.Ability to operate power shop tools and common hand tools.Basic mechanical skills.Meet work at heights requirements when operating a scissor lift.Solid PC computing skills.Initiative and commitment to continued growth and development to learn new technologies.Basic understanding of Ohm’s Law and Kirchhoff’s Law.Ability to develop continuous improvement plans and recommendations for more efficient and less costly methods.Capability to perform formal root cause analysis (RCA).Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with ladder logic, GE Allen Bradley, or Siemens controls is a plus.Ability to read and interpret schematics is essential.
Work Environment
Work in a climate-controlled, very clean, and highly automated environment. The role involves working across 1st or 3rd shifts with specific hours for each.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
