The position also supports and serves the participant to achieve their goals in life and live as independently as possible. Shift Worked: 8am to 4pm Weekly Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Non Exempt Pay range: $19.32 - $19.32 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assist residents with self-care, toileting, showering, tooth brushing, grooming, dressing and ensure proper hygiene and prepare meals for participants as needed 2. Assist residents with appropriate eating and drinking skills and table manners 3. Assist residents in attaining skills needed for daily living and socialization according to their abilities 4. Assist residents in maintenance of rooms, clothing and personal possessions 5. Administer medication 6. Understand the residents’ function and how to respond to residents’ needs 7. Safely accompany residents to community resources (stores, places of worship, recreation, and health facilities), etc. 8. Participate as a member of Interdisciplinary Team in the development, implementation and evaluation of the residents’ Plan of Care 9. Progress note writing and communication logs preparation 10. Knowledge of Incident Reporting Procedures 11. Able to understand and execute Residential Habilitation Plan (Res. Hab. Plan) 12. Overnight duties include residential maintenance such as, laundry, prepare participant breakfast, lunch, etc. 13. Accompany participants to Cardio Club and participate in activities 14. Carry out fire drills, evacuations and emergency procedures 15. Become a consistent role model and help the residents in their everyday lives 16. Responsible for garbage disposal and ensuring that the recycle/garbage can(s) are outside for pick-up 17. Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of offices, residences 18. Responsible for ensuring that the program is full 19. Assists with moving furniture, food and supplies 20. Surveys houses regularly for needed repairs and replacements 21. Maintenance and sanitation of backyard and front-yard including shrubbery, snow removal and deicing 22. Attends staff meetings when required 23. Any and all other tasks as designated by Associate Director/Residential Manager or Designee 24. Light carpentry, plumbing and painting as needed to build shelves, install fixtures, repair furniture and appliances Qualification/Requirements 1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 2. Ability to lift, push, pull 60 pounds without assistance and climb stairs 3. Valid drivers’ license required 4. Related experience Education 1. High School graduate or equivalent degree preferred 2. Participation in MR/DD community-based training program
