Job Title: Machinist Trainee - 2nd Shift

Job Description

The candidate will operate compression mold machines to produce rubber or plastic rings and seals used in the oil and gas industry. Responsibilities include measuring out powders and materials prior to setup, ensuring proper consistency, setting up the machine, and operating the hydraulic press to mold rubber preforms into seals.

ResponsibilitiesInspect first run parts for defects and make necessary adjustments prior to production.While parts are in press, turn preforms, stack preforms, and straighten preforms and parts.Load press platens uniformly with molds of equal height.Handle molds with care to avoid denting or galling critical machined surfaces and report any damage to molds or machines.Verify preforms fit molds properly and report any discrepancies to the Crew Lead.Ensure proper engagement of molds when press closes and pressure is applied, especially when molds are stacked to prevent sliding or bumping.Essential SkillsAt least 1-2 years of experience in machine operating or as a helper in a machine shop.Ability to lift up to 50lbs.Production and manufacturing experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience as a machine operator, extruder, molder, press operator, or production operator in injection molding and rubber or plastic manufacturing.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The shop floor is very clean, orderly, and climate-controlled. It is a manufacturing and production environment that can be hot and loud at times. Candidates should have prior experience and exposure to similar settings. The second shift runs from 4 PM - 12 AM. Candidates are required to have their own safety glasses and steel-toed boots, while other necessary PPE will be provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HUMBLE, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $17.25/hr.
