**Machinist Lead – Swing Shift** **Location:** South Seattle, WA **Shift:** Swing Shift (Afternoons/Evenings) **Pay:** Competitive, based on experience **Role Overview** We are seeking an experienced **Lead CNC Machinist** to oversee operations during our swing shift. This position requires advanced machining knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will guide production activities, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure precision machining results. **Key Responsibilities** + Interpret blueprints, production plans, and verbal instructions to determine machining requirements. + Set up, load, and secure raw materials; operate CNC machines; deburr and prepare finished components for storage or shipment. + Monitor dimensions and tolerances throughout production runs to guarantee accuracy. + Support supervisors with program verification, machine setup, offset adjustments, and quality checks. + Review technical documentation to establish machining sequences, tolerances, and setup requirements. + Mark reference points and dimensions on materials for precise machining operations. + Identify and resolve equipment issues or out-of-tolerance conditions; escalate malfunctions when necessary. + Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform routine preventive maintenance. + Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards. + Provide guidance and mentorship to team members during shift operations. **Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED required. + Minimum 4 years of experience operating vertical CNC machines. + At least 2 years of CNC programming experience (vertical/horizontal mills, 4th axis machining, positioners). + Proficiency with Fanuc and Okuma controllers. + Strong knowledge of machining equipment, inspection tools, speeds/feeds, and tooling. + Ability to remain focused, alert, and safety-conscious in a dynamic environment. + Proven commitment to safe work practices and adherence to quality standards. **Why Join Us** + Competitive pay with opportunities for advancement. + Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage. + 401(k) plan with company contributions. + Paid time off and career development opportunities. + Work in a collaborative aerospace environment where precision and teamwork matter. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Seattle, WA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
