Communication in these relationships must be built on respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork, and professionalism. Failure to effectively maintain necessary communications and encourage constructive relationships will significantly affect success in this position. + With some supervision, while following established procedures, set up and run manual and CNC machines, produce parts to design specifications. + Cooperatively work with other machinists and management to understand and maintain scheduled workflow and productivity. + Ensure all documented customer, corporate and engineering requirements are met. + Report directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor. + Configure, set up and run manual and CNC machining centers (mills and lathes) and cutting tools (including tool offsets) to produce products as designed and illustrated on engineering technical drawings. + Use precision measuring tools and inspection equipment such as dial calipers, micrometers, pin and thread gauges, Smart Scope and Profile Projector to monitor and ensure quality of production parts for conformance to specifications. + Edit CNC Programming and tool offsets to maintain quality and efficiency of production. + With assistance from level III machinists, create CNC programs for new parts and help with part validation. + Perform and record routine self-inspections of first articles and work-in-process in accordance with established quality procedures. + Employ knowledge of GD&T to interpret engineering drawings, ensuring quality during the manufacturing process. + Perform preventive maintenance on machines as required. + Willing to work overtime to maintain production schedule. + Willing to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift as necessary to maintain production schedule. + Actively seek opportunities to reduce machining inefficiencies and production cycle times and takes appropriate action to do so when authorized. + Participate in Daily Management meetings and identify obstacles and improvement ideas. + Encourage and promote teamwork, participation, and collaboration. + Assist with training of lower-level machinists and machine operators. + Regular and predictable attendance required. + Perform all other duties and responsibilities that are reasonable assigned from time to time by the employer or its designated representative. + Responsible for keeping immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety and quality. **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:** + High School diploma or equivalent + Education in math (Trig and Geometry) + Metalworking + Blueprint reading + Metrology + General machining principles obtained through community college, technical school, or previous work experience. **PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:** + Requires ability to sit or stand for up to 10 hours per day (with breaks) doing repetitive work. + Ability to work overtime as necessary. + Ability to clearly see and measure features on small parts. + Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity required. + Ability to lift 50 lbs. **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:** + Accepts constructive feedback and revises work as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards. + Self-directed and reliable, maintaining productivity and delivering high-quality results without the need for close oversight. + Ability to work amiably with coworkers, QA, Engineering, and Management. + Excellent time management skills.
