Job Description
The Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC and manual machining equipment used in production operations. This role involves machining parts to precise specifications using drawings, programs, and measuring tools while maintaining a high standard of quality, efficiency, and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment according to drawings and work instructions
Machine parts to required tolerances and specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Perform in-process and final quality inspections using precision measuring tools
Maintain production efficiency and consistent product quality
Audit personal work per standard work and quality requirements
Perform basic machine adjustments and tool changes
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all safety policies and manufacturing procedures
Qualifications and Requirements5+ years of experience as a Machinist
Experience setting up and operating CNC machining centers
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Proficiency using measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and gauges (standard and metric)
Strong math and geometry skills
Ability to operate manual machining equipment such as mills, lathes, and saws
Knowledge of CNC setup, editing, and basic programming is a plus
Desired ExperienceCNC Vertical Mill (HAAS)
CNC Lathe (Dual Spindle)
Waterjet (OMAX)
Milling Machine (Bridgeport)
Press Brake (Accurpress)
Various saws (band, horizontal, SOCO)
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Ability to work overtime as needed
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted; additional weight with assistance
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Technical or machining-related degree preferred
