Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machinist responsible for operating CNC Machines in a job shop environment. The role involves manufacturing complex components with tight tolerances, ensuring high quality and meeting delivery deadlines. On-the-job training is provided when necessary.
Responsibilities
Perform advanced setup operations and adjust machine tools to execute operations from provided programs.Adjust and verify programming, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.Operate CNC machine tools for complex, progressive machining operations across a diverse line of work.Adjust speeds and feeds during operation to optimize performance.Work from programming instructions, operational data, and machine setup instructions to define and code tool arrangements, material clamping methods, machine calibrations, and console settings for operations such as boring, milling, drilling, facing, threading, and occasional profiling and contouring.Check parts for conformance to specifications, ensuring precision and quality.May operate more than one unit simultaneously.Handle multiple setups, offsets, and program edits using G&M Codes, completing single-piece jobs from print to finish.Manage tool changes and maintain multiple runs at a time.Essential Skills
4+ years of experience in print-to-part machining using CNC Mills or Lathes.4+ years of experience editing or programming G&M codes with controls such as Heidenhain, Siemens, Fanuc, Mazak, or others.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience machining large parts, 10,000 lbs or more.Familiarity with Heidenhain or Siemens controls.Blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency.Experience in prototype machining.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The job is situated in a job shop manufacturing floor environment, with exposure to oil, dirt, debris, fumes, moving machinery, and occasional high decibels. The shop floor is climate-controlled, and PPE is required at all times. There are multiple openings for various shifts, including a third shift from Monday to Thursday, 4:15 pm to 4:45 am, and a weekend first shift from Friday to Sunday, 5 am to 5:30 pm. The facility is located in Merrill, MI, and specializes in building large fixtures and components for helicopters, naval ships, large machines, and vehicles.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.47 - $36.20/hr.
