Overview: Responsible for operating CNC Machines in a job shop setting to manufacture complex, tightly tolerance components ranging from small to large from print and to exacting quality and delivery deadlines. On the job training is provided as needed.\n\nJob Functions:\n\nPerforms advanced setup operations and adjusts machine tools to perform operations from provided programs.\nAdjusts and checks out programming.\nOperates CNC machine tools to perform complex series of progressive machining operations on a diverse line of work.\nAdjusts speeds and feeds during operation.\nWorks from programming instructions, operational data, and machine setup instructions defining and coding tool arrangements, material clamping methods, machine calibrations, and console settings for operations such as bore, mill, drill, face, thread, and occasional profiling and contouring.\nCheck parts for conformance to specifications.\nMay run more than one unit simultaneously\nPhysical Demands: Some heavy lifting, no more than 50 lbs without mechanical assistance. Bending, stooping, and twisting are normal motions during operation.\n\nWork Environment: Job shop manufacturing floor environment. As such, exposure to oil, dirt, debris, fumes moving machinery and equipment, and occasional high decibels are typical. Shop floor is climate controlled. PPE is required at all times.\n\n1st week responsibility\n\nCandidates need to already be \"print to part\" level with CNC milling before they start. \n\nCandidate will be responsible for doing multiple set ups, offsets, and program edits using G&M Codes. They will be completing 1 piece jobs from print to finish. They will also handle tool changing and maintaining multiple runs at a time. \n\nTheir parts takes 400-700 hours to machine. The smallest part is 10,000lbs, the largest is 100,000lbs. They are also made of extremely expensive alloys. The parts can be up to 12ft in diameter on the lathes. A candidate needs to be prepared to do extensive training on how to do their set ups and machining.

MUST: \n\n-4+ years experience doing print to part machining using CNC Mills or Lathes.\n- 4+ years editing or programing G&M codes controls such as Heidenhain, seimans, fanuc, Mazak, or other brand. \n\nNice to have\n- Experience machining larger parts, 10,000lbs or more\n- Experience with Heidenhain or Siemens controls. \n\nDis qualifiers-\n- Merrill does not want to hire candidates from production shops.\n- No single parts experience. \n\n-They want to work with people that have been taking on new builds and projects every day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.47 - $36.20/hr.
