Job Title: MachinistJob Description

The Machinist is responsible for setting up, laying out, and operating mills or lathes. Primarily working with CNC machines, specifically Haas and Fadal, the machinist will run production for Aerospace and Automotive industry parts. Materials handled include mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. The role involves moving completed parts, typically weighing under 50 pounds.

ResponsibilitiesSet up, run, and edit CNC machines at the station.Read and interpret blueprints to produce parts.Apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) effectively.Operate CNC machines using Haas and Fadal controls.Ensure high-quality production of Aerospace and Automotive parts.Troubleshoot and adjust machine settings as necessary.
Essential Skills3-4 years of machining experience.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Proficient knowledge of GD&T.Experience with CNC mill and lathe operations.Mechanical troubleshooting and machine operating skills.
Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with Mazak Mazatrol controls.Capability to handle machine changeovers.Strong mathematical skills.Experience with grinders and grinding operations.

Work Environment

Work in a very clean and open machining shop with departments on either side. The facility includes a break room along the front wall. The environment is not temperature-controlled in the summer but fans are provided, while heating is available during winter. The first shift runs from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, with a potential additional day on Friday if workload increases. Enjoy a 15-minute paid break and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milford, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
