Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. This role involves setting up, adjusting, and operating manual machine tools to carry out progressive machining operations on a diverse range of close tolerance work. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of skill and machining techniques, along with the ability to diagnose and rectify tooling or machine issues.
ResponsibilitiesSet up, adjust, and operate all shop manual machine tools for progressive machining operations.Diagnose and rectify tooling or machine issues.Operate within a variety of standard work with close tolerances and finish requirements.Set up machines for operation by others as required.Ensure work is subject to process and final inspection.Complete tasks from drawings, specifications, and job layouts.Maintain or exceed the approved rate of production.Uphold an acceptable attendance record and overall work record.Report defective materials or questionable conditions as per established processes.Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, following safety regulations.Pay attention to 5S and perform preventative maintenance on equipment in the assigned work center.Complete tasks as directed by the Operations Supervisor with minimal supervision.Perform other related duties as necessary.Serve as a subject matter expert in continuous improvement activities and training document development.Essential SkillsAbility to set up and operate all manual machines, including boring bars, mills, grinders, and special purpose machines, while adhering to quality and production standards.Ability to perform prescribed inspections and adhere to quality and drawing specifications.Strong independent problem-solving skills and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.Proven mechanical, clerical, and mathematical abilities for safe equipment operation and accurate data recording.Adherence to standardized safety policies and operating practices.Additional Skills & QualificationsGeneral Safety and ISO 9001 training requirements.Knowledge of applicable process instructions and SOPs.Experience with selecting proper speeds and feeds, determining operation sequences, and tooling arrangements.Experience and knowledge of basic mechanical principles, testing procedures, and basic hydraulics.High School Diploma or GED with above average mechanical ability.Ability to read, comprehend, and follow processes, procedures, and policies.Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervision, and management.Physical ability to meet job demands, with or without accommodation.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work is performed in a non-air-conditioned shop environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and odors. The role requires standing for the entire shift and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Employees will bend, stoop, and work at different workstations as production needs require. Additionally, operating material handling equipment like hoists, positioners, and pallet jacks is necessary.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
