**Job Title: Machinist**
**Job Description**
Join our machine shop team to fabricate various parts for pressure vessel manufacturing. This role involves utilizing a 2.5 axis drill, manual mills, lathes, and operating a vertical turning lathe. Additionally, maintaining a clean shop environment by removing metal shavings and performing preventative maintenance on equipment is essential.
**Responsibilities**
+ Fabricate parts using 2.5 axis drill, manual mills, and lathes.
+ Operate vertical turning lathe for manufacturing processes.
+ Read and interpret blueprints for accurate fabrication.
+ Perform quality inspections by checking tolerances with calipers and micrometers.
+ Maintain a clean work environment by clearing metal shavings.
+ Conduct preventative maintenance on all machining equipment.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in blueprint reading.
+ Experience in manual and CNC machining using mills and lathes.
+ Ability to check tolerances utilizing calipers and micrometers.
+ Minimum of 2 years' experience in operating or machining.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Quality inspection skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in fabrication.

**Work Environment**
Work in a climate-controlled metal fabrication environment with a standard 50-hour workweek during peak seasons in July and December. Training hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 6 AM to 3:30 PM, lasting 3 to 12 months based on skill level. Regular work hours are Monday through Thursday from 5:30 PM to 6 AM and Friday from 4:30 PM to 11:30 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts. The company ensures flexibility for family schedules.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $26.00/hr.
