Machine Set Up Technician
**Job Title: Utility Lead (Machine Set Up Technician)** Job Description The Utility Lead is a critical role responsible for providing support across multiple departments, including Tooling, Blending, Grinding, and Quality Assurance. This role requires overseeing production output, ensuring specifications are met, and maintaining overall quality. The position is ideal for individuals with a mechanical inclination and experience in industrial machine setup and changeovers. A good attitude, willingness to learn, and cultural fit are paramount. Pay Rate: $33.52/hr Responsibilities + Perform changeovers and line start-ups. + Assist maintenance with minor equipment repairs. + Execute duties of A, B, and C Operators. + Determine when the line is hot and ready to start. + Make heat adjustments on extruder for quality pipe. + Maintain INK JET printers and select the correct print. + Provide breaks to line operators in production area. + Complete Production Pre-Start Checklist and start up a line from start to finish ensuring quality product. + Ensure all tooling is stored correctly. + Set a premier example of safe work habits, attitude, and company goals. + Select proper silo and material for product. + Assist with onboarding training for new hires. + Engage in daily production process improvements. + Cross-train and perform Blending/Grinding positions as needed. Essential Skills + Tool and die expertise. + Blueprint reading. + High school diploma/GED preferred. + Qualification at A Operator level. + Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Mechanical inclination, ideally with a industrial mechanic experience. + Experience with automotive mechanics is also considered. + Soft skills and cultural fit are highly valued. Work Environment The role requires physical activity, including frequent sitting, standing, walking, and using hands to handle or feel objects. Employees may occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch and must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. This position demands specific vision abilities, such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This is a first-shift position with working hours from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Leola, Pennsylvania. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $69721.60 - $69721.60/yr. Medical/Dental/Vision – eligible on day 1 Vacation eligible first year (pro-rated); second year 80 hours (willing to negotiate vacation in offer) Floating Holiday eligible first year (pro-rated); second year 24 hours Paid Holidays (time and half for all hours worked on Company observed federal holiday) 401K matching up to 4%; annual employer contribution 3% (if employee contributes 4%, Westlake will match that plus the 3% they already contribute.
