**Job Title: Machine Operator** Job Description We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator responsible for the setup and operation of high-speed printing press machinery. The role focuses on implementing time-saving practices to minimize downtime and setup times while ensuring high-quality products are delivered to our customers. Responsibilities + Setup and operate a high-speed printing press machine efficiently. + Practice urgency in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards. + Minimize scrap waste and ensure proper tagging for waste reporting. + Collect top and bottom sheets (dunnage) to expedite the converting process. + Adhere to lock out/tag out procedures and ensure accurate completion of production paperwork. + Mount die boards, assist in machine setup, and maintain machine operation. + Read and understand production orders, ensuring quality with basic corrugated terminology. + Understand mechanical functionality of machinery and conduct in-depth cleaning as scheduled. Essential Skills + Minimum of 2 years high-speed machine operating experience. + Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler, and proficiency in basic shop math. + Comfortable working in a high-speed packaging environment. + Capability to lift up to 60 lbs. consistently throughout the day. + Sense of urgency without compromising attention to detail and quality. Work Environment This expansive 550,000 square-foot facility is equipped with 26 dock doors and state-of-the-art technology valued over $30 million. Though not climate controlled, the facility is well-ventilated. Employees must wear steel-toed shoes, safety vests, glasses, and ear protection. Be prepared for extensive walking in this spacious environment. Current openings are on the 3rd shift, with plans to expand to multiple shifts by year-end. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
