The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of blow molding and injection molding equipment, including machine setup, cleaning, operation, and basic maintenance. This role supports high-volume plastic bottle production by monitoring process conditions, performing quality inspections, handling materials, and maintaining cleanliness in alignment with GMP standards. The position contributes directly to consistent product quality and equipment reliability while providing support to downstream processes and training junior operators.
ResponsibilitiesOperate blow mold and injection mold machinery including machine setup, cleaning, basic maintenance, and daily operation to support continuous production.Perform repetitive production and packing processes required for mass manufacturing of plastic bottles and related products.Monitor machine settings, heat, pressure, and process variables, adjusting machine profiles to ensure product consistency and quality.Conduct routine visual inspections based on Real SPC schedules and ensure that all quality inspection documentation is accurate and complete.Complete production reporting and maintain accurate records for finished product storage and traceability.Perform preventative maintenance and support maintenance technicians with troubleshooting, equipment repair, mold removal, mold installation, and overhaul activities.Manage material flow to and from molding machines including tagging, weighing, strapping, and staging product.Clean production machinery and maintain a debris-free work environment in alignment with GMP and audit requirements.Provide operational support to downstream and palletizer teams as needed.Train Machine Operator I and lower level Machine Operator II employees and support departmental skill development.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support production efficiency.Essential SkillsAbility to operate blow molding and injection molding machines, including setup, cleaning, machine startup, and basic maintenance.Capability to monitor and adjust heat, pressure, and profile settings to maintain product quality.Skill in performing and documenting routine visual inspections using Real SPC or similar quality systems.Experience performing preventative maintenance and assisting with equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and mold changeover activities.Strong material handling skills including weighing, tagging, strapping, and transporting finished product.Ability to maintain cleanliness of production equipment and work areas in compliance with GMP standards.Capability to train entry-level Machine Operators and support team development.Forklift operation ability.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Preferred experience with blow molding or injection molding equipment, or general manufacturing experience demonstrating mechanical aptitude.Ability to manage time with minimal supervision and maintain productivity in a fast-paced production environment.High attention to detail and quality focus in documentation, inspections, and machine adjustments.Willingness to work any shift and required overtime based on business needs.Physical ability to lift and carry more than 50 pounds and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.Strong work ethic, reliability, and consistency in following safety and production protocols.Why Work Here?Employees receive full company benefits effective immediately upon becoming direct, with no waiting period.
Work EnvironmentThe position operates on a night shift with a Pitman Schedule (2-week rotation); 7pm - 7am (2 days on; 2 days off; 3 days on; 2 days off; 2 days on; 3 days off). The work environment requires adherence to GMP standards, and involves frequent physical activity including lifting, standing, and operating machinery.
