Machine Operator
Job Title: OperatorJob Description

The Operator is responsible for operating electric hoists, various handheld power tools, and small hand tools to assist in the production operations and assembly of various components. The role involves packaging components and assemblies for shipment to outside finishers and customers, preparing work to be assembled by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare work to be assembled by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists.Assemble parts for correct fit.Package products to meet standards.Use hand tools to assemble and measure required parts.Review parts, sub-assemblies, and final products.Check specifications by inspecting completed assemblies and reject if quality standards are not met.Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level.Document actions by completing production and quality forms.Use various types of powered industrial trucks, manual pallet jacks, and gantry hoists to move materials.Prepare parts for painting by cleaning parts and hanging them in the paint booth.Essential SkillsAbility to read blueprints and comprehensive knowledge of measuring devices.Proficiency in operating hand and bench-type tools.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Basic report writing and correspondence skills.Mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, and compute rate, ratio, and percent.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in using grinders, polishers, saw operators, and other machines.Experience in metal finishing, grinding, buffing, and sanding.Ability to interpret bar graphs.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
