Machine Operator
**Job Title: Machine Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking skilled Machine Operators to join our team, with opportunities available across the 2nd and 3rd shifts. Our operations involve processing large spools of wire, primarily steel, to meet precise customer specifications. This includes trimming wire and applying coatings or sealants. Our products are widely used in the production of construction staples, office staples, and fine wire brushes. Successful candidates will undergo 4-6 weeks of training on the 1st shift. **Responsibilities** + Operate digital-controlled machinery and auxiliary equipment to produce quality products. + Load raw material, correctly feed wire through the machine, and remove finished products. + Change machinery settings for different products and perform quality welds using appropriate equipment. + Conduct preventative maintenance on production and support equipment as assigned. + Maintain accurate production and quality records using various measuring tools. + Understand and adhere to product quality, delivery, and scrap measurements. + Operate machinery safely, following all safety procedures and wearing assigned PPE. + Maintain a clean and organized work area for the next operator. + Operate a forklift and maintain a valid license after passing OSHA approved training. + Adjust equipment for optimal operation with guidance from management. + Work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with changing priorities. + Participate in training, employee meetings, and project teams as appropriate. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of two years of experience in an industrial facility with machine or production operations. + Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot problems. + Experience with machine operation, setup, and safety protocols such as lockout/tagout. + Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English. + Ability to perform simple calculations and use a calculator for complex mathematics. + Capable of lifting up to 70 pounds regularly and performing all physical work-related demands. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Technical school education is a plus. + Willingness to learn to read various measuring tools and use the metric system. + Experience in welding and forklift operation is advantageous. + Ability to apply common sense methods when following written or oral instructions. **Why Work Here?** Join our team and benefit from a strong package of benefits including optional Aflac, Simple IRA, Capital Blue, Principal Medical, and long-term disability. The facility operates with roughly 12-15 employees on the 1st shift and 3-4 employees on the 2nd shift, including maintenance staff. Safety-toed shoes and ear protection are required in this typical manufacturing setting. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
