Machine Operator
Job Title: Machine OperatorJob Description

As a Machine Operator, you will monitor and explain deviations from expected Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), complete machine-specific training, and perform necessary operator checklists. You will be responsible for data collection of quality measurements and correcting any deviations from quality standards to ensure product specifications. Your role includes monitoring SPC charting, communicating problems and continuous improvement ideas, and performing maintenance tasks. You will also be responsible for personal development by establishing SMART goals and participating in plant improvement teams.

ResponsibilitiesMonitor and explain deviations from expected Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).Complete machine and task-specific training as documented on the Operator Development Plan and perform necessary operator checklists.Collect quality measurement data and correct deviations to produce products within specifications.Monitor and respond to deviations within SPC charting.Communicate problems, progress reports, and continuous improvement ideas to management, maintenance, and production personnel.Perform maintenance tasks as outlined by the Maintenance Manager and in response to machine malfunctions. Troubleshoot machine and process issues.Promote and participate in good housekeeping habits to exceed management and customer expectations.Ensure completion of all cleaning tasks as outlined in the Master Cleaning Schedule.Maintain accurate production reporting documentation.Actively participate in plant teams and activities including safety, quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement.Operate Powered Industrial Truck, Boom Lift, and Scissor Lift according to OSHA regulations.
Essential SkillsExperience in machine operating and production.Ability to operate production machinery safely and efficiently.Ability to maintain appropriate documentation and communicate ideas and problems to appropriate staff.Proficient in performing scheduled preventative maintenance and other repairs to production equipment.
Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of Quality, GMP, and Food Safety standards.Ability to ensure all production is properly labeled and tagged.Experience in performing line sanitization tasks.Ability to perform scheduled production equipment changeovers with minimal impact on OEE.

Work Environment

The work environment includes both inside and outside conditions, with potential exposure to extreme heat, noise, vibrations, and moving mechanical parts. The role is subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, and poor ventilation. The position operates on the second shift from Monday to Friday, 4 PM to 12 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pendergrass, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
