**Job Title: Machine Operator**
Job Description
Join our dynamic production team and work on the floor with a dedicated group of 13 employees per shift. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our paint production process, utilizing large kettles and a three-roll milling machine to produce high-quality printing ink. Your responsibilities will include monitoring machinery, operating forklifts, and preparing products for shipment, all while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
+ Monitor and operate the milling machine, ensuring continuous flow and preventing jams.
+ Scrape paint from the mill into drums and manage the flow of products.
+ Lift and move containers weighing between 30 - 50 lbs.
+ Operate a sit-down forklift to transport drums to the staging area.
+ Prepare the next drum and repack filled containers as per customer requests.
+ Perform miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning, sanitizing, and sweeping during slow periods.
+ Use personal protective equipment as required and ensure safety and efficiency in operations.
+ Process batches of ink following supervisor and Quality Control instructions.
+ Follow all quality requirements and testing procedures.
+ Maintain cleanliness of the mill and work area and complete required preventive maintenance.
Essential Skills
+ Machine operating and batch mixing experience.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Attention to detail and strong mathematical skills.
+ Basic data entry skills.
+ Comfortable working in a hot environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous production experience.
+ Experience with chemicals and machine operating.
+ Forklift experience.

Work Environment
The production floor is clean and organized, though it can be hot due to manufacturing processes. Employees work Monday to Friday on the first shift from 6 AM to 2:30 PM. Safety is a priority with mandatory steel toe shoes and provided PPE. The facility is being updated with new locker rooms and break areas to enhance the work environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Chicago, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.00/hr.
