Machine Operator
**Job Title: Machine Operator** **Job Description** The Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring that machinery operates effectively, efficiently, and safely while maintaining product quality. This role involves providing training, leadership, and support to production line employees. **Responsibilities** + Lead the production line and partner with leads, mechanics, and other production employees to address and resolve production issues. + Load and unload material rolls from machines, verify and set machine settings safely according to specified sheet settings. + Manage machine operations including starts, stops, and restarts, remove scrap, and perform rewinding. + Assist with machine setup and perform general production activities to ensure efficient, high-quality output. + Operate thermoforming, automation, and auxiliary equipment such as case tapers, grinders, and stackers. + Inspect finished or in-process products against company standards and specifications. + Ensure compliance with line clearance, raw materials, in-process inspection, manufacturing, and housekeeping standards. + Conduct basic preventative maintenance, cavity changes, and other technical duties. + Troubleshoot machines for quality issues and maintain documentation relevant to plant operations. + Collaborate with shift supervision to understand and develop training needs and individual progress. + Maintain an organized work area free of unused items and machinery to mitigate safety hazards. + Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned. **Essential Skills** + Ability to read blueprints and use micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools. + Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills, both verbal and written. + Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions regarding set-ups, operations, and processes. + Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) and experience with data acquisition preferred. + Ability to read micrometers, calipers, digital force gauges, protractors, pressure gauges, and temperature thermocouples. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Minimum of 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment or similar relevant experience. + Qualification to operate various lift trucks used in production and in the warehouse. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic and supportive work environment where your skills and ideas are valued.
