Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a 3rd Shift Machine Operator, you will be responsible for checking the work order and blueprint to determine the parts to be made each day. You will perform daily machine setup and operate various equipment such as the Brake Press, Fiber Laser, Die Stamp, spot welder, assembly, finishing, sanding, and punch press. Your role will include inspecting each metal piece to ensure it meets specifications using tools like micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.

ResponsibilitiesCheck work orders and blueprints daily to determine parts to be made.Perform machine setup and operate equipment like Brake Press and Fiber Laser.Stand and load metal sheets into machines, forming and bending them as required.Visually and physically inspect metal pieces for dents, rips, cuts, and proper bends.Use micrometers, calipers, and tape measures to ensure precision.Lift and handle items weighing 40+ pounds daily.Essential SkillsProficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.Experience in machine operation, including using micrometers and calipers.Minimum of 1 year experience operating machines and using micrometers and calipers.Knowledge of Laser, Press Brake, TIG welding, Punch Press, Tape Measure, Fabrication, and CNC.Additional Skills & QualificationsAt least 1 year of experience running a press.Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision tools.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The 3rd shift operates from 10 PM to 6 AM, Sunday night to Friday morning, with expectations of 5-10 hours of overtime. The facility houses over 300 employees across three shifts and is known for being one of the nicest, cleanest, climate-controlled shops in Wisconsin. Employees have access to an onsite health clinic and a great break room. The large facility provides numerous advancement opportunities, and employees work alongside 2-3 others in a pod, each operating their own machine.

This is a Contract position based out of Madison, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
