Machine Operator

\n\t\t\t\t\t

The Machine Operator position is primarily responsible for ensuring the machine is operational and functioning effectively, efficiently, safely and the product meets quality expectations. In addition, the Machine Operator position provides training, leadership and support to employees working on the production line. \n\nEssential Job Responsibilities\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential functions/duty satisfactorily. Other duties/functions may be added or assigned.\n\nOperations\n•\tFunctions as the leader on the production line.\n•\tPartners with leads, mechanics and other production employees to address production issues and implement solutions.\n•\tLoads and unloads material rolls from machines, verifies and sets machine settings per the sheet settings in a safe manner.\n•\tManages proper and timely starts/stops/restarts for machine, removes scrap and rewind.\n•\tAssists with machine set up.\n•\tPerforms general production activities to ensure efficient production of high-quality product.\n•\tOperates thermoforming, automation, and auxiliary equipment (i.e., case tapers, grinders, stackers).\n•\tInspects finished or in-process products against company standards and specifications for irregularities or reject. \n•\tEnsures compliance with regards to line clearance, raw materials, in-process inspection, manufacturing, and housekeeping.\n•\tConducts basic preventative maintenance, cavity changes and other technical duties. \n•\tTroubleshoots machine for quality issues.\n•\tMaintains documentation and performs administrative tasks relevant to plant operations.\n•\tCollaborates with shift supervision to understand and develop training needs, structure, and individual progress for assigned shift. \n•\tEnsures work area is maintained in order and is free of unused items, carts, machinery not in use to mitigate safety hazards and maintain good housekeeping practices. \n•\tPerforms other job-related duties as required and/or assigned.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n•\tQualify to operate various lift trucks used in production and in the warehouse.\n•\tStrong Interpersonal skills, facilitation, and communication skill, both verbal and written\n•\tCritical thinking skills, problem resolution, strong decision-making ability to self-perform, and make decisions regarding the sequence of set-ups, operations, and processes, including minor modification or pre-programmed computer routines within limits of recognized standard methods and procedures.\n•\tStrong proficiency in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Access), experience in data acquisition preferred. \n•\tRead micrometers and calipers, digital force gauge, protractors, pressure gauges, temperature thermocouples. \n•\tHigh school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience. \n•\tMinimum of 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment or similar relevant experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
