Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

Join our team as a Machine Operator at a facility that produces cement mixes, gravel, and sandbags. In this role, you will be responsible for operating the machine that fills cement mix bags. You will set up the machine based on product specifications, manage the filling process, and ensure the bags are accurately filled and transported to the palletizing machine. This position involves repetitive tasks and may require manual lifting. A full-face respirator is provided for protection against dust in the shop.

ResponsibilitiesRead job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates.Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunctions.Review products for inconsistencies or abnormal appearances, ensuring they meet quality requirements.Perform routine machine maintenance.Assist other operators in setting up machines and completing necessary tasks to meet deadlines.Essential SkillsProficiency in machine operation and general production tasks.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.Physical ability to frequently stand for extended periods and lift up to 100 lbs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in packaging and packing tasks.General labor experience.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is a small, dusty shop with a team of five in production. It includes conveyor systems, a dryer/tumbler, tall silos for material storage, bagging machines, and stacking/palletizing machines. The shop operates on a day shift from 4am to 2:30pm and a swing shift from 10am to 8:30pm, Monday through Friday, with a shift differential available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
