Join a leading advanced material provider specializing in the composite and protective markets. This role focuses on the manufacturing of soft armor at our facility in Charlotte, where we have been developing technologically advanced fiber reinforcements and prepregs for over 60 years. Our operations span North America and Europe, ensuring a robust global presence.
ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate all U.D. equipment, including creel, chemical mixing, and UD line.Mix water-based chemicals while following safe work practices.Visually inspect product during operation and adjust to ensure fabric meets quality and customer specifications.Transfer product to the next process using hoists and pallet jacks.Identify, repair, and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, seeking additional support when needed.Perform basic preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.Accurately enter data into the ERP system.Essential SkillsExperience with machine operation, specifically entering machine settings in an HMI.Proficiency in computer and math skills, including issuing materials, posting production, and performing basic math calculations.Physical ability to load creel with 150-300 bobbins, each weighing up to 20lbs, once or twice daily.Additional Skills & QualificationsUnderstanding of machine setup and troubleshooting, particularly for Belt Laminator Operators and Cross Ply Operators.Capability to perform light maintenance while machines are running.Experience in a UD Associate role is beneficial before advancing to a UD Operator position.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The position involves 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, with openings on the day shift from 7am to 7pm. Candidates will train on the day shift for 6-8 weeks if assigned to the night shift. The facility is very clean and climate-controlled, ensuring a comfortable work environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.27 - $22.27/hr.
