Job Description

Operators are responsible for ensuring that this company maintains its high industry standards by producing quality products for its customers. The operator will be responsible for receiving raw materials, partnering with quality control to test materials and products, blending high-volume cellulose powder, packaging finished good products, and maintaining and enhancing a safe, productive, and quality-driven atmosphere.

ResponsibilitiesMix high-volume cellulose powder into a blender.Monitor manufacturing processes.Shutdown and internally clean the process equipment.Continuously monitor equipment and instrumentation safely, with minimal guidance. Equipment may include mills, blenders, shakers, PLCs, water systems, pumps, extruders/dispersers, forklifts, and hand trucks.Ensure all documentation is cGMP compliant.Adhere to safety and quality protocols including uniforms, hairnets, beard covers, safety glasses, hardhats, and hearing protection.Perform some equipment maintenance and improvements.Identify and communicate continuous improvement opportunities.Perform other general tasks as guided by management, such as cleaning and disinfecting work areas (sweeping, mopping, cleaning equipment with detergents).Essential SkillsMachine operating1-2 years of job tenure per place of employmentHigh School Diploma or GEDProficient math skillsAbility to lift and move 50 lbs regularlyMechanical aptitudeAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in quality assuranceExperience in chemical manufacturing and mixingMechanical and power tool skillsWhy Work Here?

There is room for advancement to Operator II, Operator III, and Team Leader, each with associated pay raises. A $1/hr shift premium is also available for night shift work once transitioned to a permanent position.

Work Environment

The facility is climate-controlled to maintain customer specifications for shipped products. The position is on the Starch line, with openings on the day shift (5:45 AM-6:15 PM) and potential for night shift (5:45 PM-6:15 AM) on a 2-2-3 schedule. The work environment is temperature controlled, and most interactions will occur within a team of four, receiving responsibilities from the shift supervisor. The culture is strong, with a focus on teamwork and a work-first mentality.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
