Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team in the barrel plating department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring barrel plating equipment, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.

ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor barrel plating equipment effectively to ensure quality and performance standards.Make necessary chemical additions and replace anodes as needed, accurately following the barrel plating process flow to ensure product and process quality.Startup and shut down the barrel plating line and operate the control panel according to standard work procedures.Perform weekly and monthly preventative maintenance activities, including weekly tin tank change outs using vacuum, hoses, brushes, and power tools.Collaborate with the wastewater coordinator for operations related to barrel plating.Accurately complete all required paperwork.Perform SAP confirmations and utilize the print label program using a desktop computer.Monitor the quality of parts produced by conducting visual inspections to identify defects.Actively support and participate in 5S, EHS, Quality, and GLSS programs by adhering to approved practices and procedures, performing cleanup activities, and recommending improvements to management.Fulfill responsibilities and authorities detailed in any control plan associated with this position.Train in our Vibratory and Annealing processes and rotate in both areas as needed.Perform other related duties as assigned.Essential Skills1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Ability to use necessary quality tools related to this position.Capability to operate safely in a high-pressure environment.Proactive ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with limited supervision.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Physical ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs and stand throughout the shift duration.Availability to work regularly scheduled hours with overtime as needed.Flexibility to work an alternate shift if required.Working knowledge of SAP and basic computer skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior plating operations experience is preferred.Basic mechanical skills and troubleshooting abilities.Experience in machine operation and general production.Ability to use hand tools.Why Work Here?

Work in an air-conditioned facility with a separate air filtration system, alongside 19 machines and 8 team members in the department. We do regular one-on-one reviews with employees, and raises are based on contribution efforts such as attitude, attendance, and learning. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
