Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery. You will be responsible for operating the machine, checking computer calibrations, performing minor preventative maintenance, and loading and offloading products. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be essential in maintaining high-quality standards and efficient production processes.

ResponsibilitiesOperate production machinery according to established procedures.Check and calibrate computer systems to ensure accurate machine settings and operations.Perform minor preventative maintenance tasks to keep machinery in optimal condition.Monitor product quality and compliance with specifications, conducting necessary quality tests.Report any defects, anomalies, or malfunctions to the operator or supervisor.Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.Support the operator in daily tasks, including adjustments, machine startups, and regular operations.Ensure proper labeling, identification, and disposal of rejected products.Essential SkillsProficiency in computer operations is essential, as the machines are fully automated and operated using HMI screens.Ability to handle labor-intensive tasks in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsIdeal candidates will have industrial experience or experience in labor-intensive industries such as concrete, asphalt, and construction.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $57630.00 - $68157.00/yr.

Cascades is located in Doswell on what is called Bear Island (not an actual island). It is a very large papermill that Cascades has put over 450 million invested in it. The facility is very nice and stays clean. They have a ton of room to grow and great benefits that we tend to see Canadian owned companies have. In a steady growing industry (turning recycled product into cardboard boxes). Many cascades employees/supervisors moved from one of their northern plants to work for Bear Island. Will have a steady supervising unit.
