Our client, a leader in precision manufacturing in Green Bay, WI, is seeking a Machine Grinder who will be responsible for setting up and operating precision grinding machines to produce high-quality, close-tolerance parts and components. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.
**Job Title: Machinist - Grinder**
**Location:** Hobart, WI
**Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00 + (depending on experience)**
**Shift: 1st Shift (M - F, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm)**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Set up and operate a variety of grinding machines to produce precision parts.
+ Select and install appropriate grinding wheels, fixtures, and tooling based on material and specifications.
+ Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to determine machining requirements.
+ Monitor the grinding process, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
+ Inspect finished parts for defects, dimensions, and surface finish using precision measuring instruments.
+ Maintain required tolerances and surface finishes on all parts produced.
+ Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work area to ensure safe and efficient operation.
+ Performs other related duties as required to support the goals and objectives of the department/organization.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
+ Software/computer programs used: Epicor (ERP system) and Microsoft Outlook
+ Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
+ Strong understanding of grinding principles, materials, and tooling selection.
+ Ability to use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
+ Excellent attention to detail and quality orientation.
+ Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
+ Basic computer skills
**Education, Experience and Training:**
+ No minimum education required; technical or trade school certification in machining preferred.
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience operating grinding machines in a precision manufacturing environment (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
+ Internal training: Yellow Dot, overhead crane, and forklift
