Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Machine Assembler for our South Bend, IN location. This role requires working at heights and on ladders. The assembler will be responsible for ensuring all work meets quality specifications and safety guidelines by fastening joints and seams in sheet metal using fasteners and drivers. Experience in a team environment is beneficial, and candidates with a construction background are encouraged to apply.
ResponsibilitiesScrew sheet metal panels together.Install insulation.Utilize power tools such as drills, grinders, and plasma cutting equipment.Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials.Use calculator and tape measure for precise measurements.Fasten seams and joints together with bolts, rivets, caulks, and metal drive clips to assemble components.Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.Assemble and fit pre-fabricated parts to form subassemblies.Maintain cleanliness of work area.Essential SkillsPrevious mechanical assembly experience, especially in building large equipment.Construction experience, including carpentry, drywall, and metal roofing.Proficiency with power tools such as drills, grinders, plasma cutting equipment, impacts, and saws.Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch.Possession of steel-toe boots.Ownership of a basic set of hand tools (wrenches, socket wrenches) or the ability to acquire them within two weeks of starting.Ability to lift 40 pounds.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to read and interpret blueprints is a plus.Work Environment
Work takes place in a fabrication shop environment that is darker, dirty, and loud. The facility manufactures large control panels that sit on top of commercial buildings. The working hours are from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
