**Job Title: Machine Assembler** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Machine Assembler for our South Bend, IN location. This position involves working on ladders and exposure to heights, requiring a focus on safety and quality standards. The assembler will be responsible for fastening joints and seams in sheet metal using fasteners and drivers, ensuring the work meets quality specifications. Working in a team environment is essential, and previous construction experience is beneficial. **Responsibilities** + Screw sheet metal panels together. + Install insulation. + Use power tools such as drills, grinders, and plasma cutting equipment. + Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material. + Utilize calculators and tape measures. + Fasten seams and joints together with bolts, rivets, caulks, and metal drive clips to assemble components into products. + Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets. + Assemble and fit pre-fabricated parts to form subassemblies. + Maintain cleanliness of the work area. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical assembly experience, particularly in building large equipment. + Experience in construction fields such as carpentry, drywall, and metal roofing. + Proficiency in using power tools including drills, grinders, impacts, and saws. + Ability to read tape measures accurately to 1/16th of an inch. + Ownership of steel-toed shoes and a basic set of hand tools (wrenches, socket wrenches) or ability to acquire them within two weeks of starting. + Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Experience in sheet metal fabrication and construction. **Why Work Here?** Join our team and experience a collaborative work environment that values safety and quality. Our facility manufactures large control panels that sit atop commercial buildings. Working hours are from **5 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with potential additional hours on Fridays and Saturdays depending on production needs.** **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of **South Bend, Indiana** . **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
