As expert you will bring a deep technical mastery of the process and equipment. That expertise allows you to lead the planning, process development and implementation of Planned Maintenance Elements in a Continuous Improvement manufacturing environment. You will manage this through teams consisting of various technical and non-technical personnel, key support contractors and operations personnel.
How you will contribute
You will:
Partner & Enable the line leader(s) to deliver the SQCDSM targets-Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability & Morale for the lines, to ensure Process stability; Participates in the DMS- Daily Management systems meetings at the shift and line levelOwn the technology and process and centerline settings for the equipment and process and have deep technical mastery of the process and equipment; Owns the PM-Progressive maintenance systems and work processes and the PM-Progressive Maintenance Key Performance Indicators for the line/s along with Centerline Management systems; owns the R&M-Repairs & Maintenance budget of the lineDevelop, own and execute the line/s preventive and time-based maintenance systems and plans and build capability of the team to execute themselves; Build (spends at least 50% of time) technical and maintenance skills of the technicians working in the shifts, so that they are able to operate and maintain their equipment themselves; be part of the PM Pillar, own all PM systems and work process at the line level and lead some of them at the department levelPartner with the Asset and Reliability team for system improvement and execution of special maintenance tasks; be responsible for Change Management on the line/s, localization of spares and proper break-down analysis and R&M cost reduction for the line/s; Represents the department/line/s as the site technology owner in the regional and global technology forumsAssist in VSU for the new initiatives and enable the VSU team; Help the line leader in internal and external benchmarking and reapplication; be the subject matter expert on one of the component categories and be a trainer of PM related subjects for the plantWhat you will bring

The purpose of the role is to ensure the following utilities are efficiently (and by implication cost effectively) generated, and are supplied to various areas across the site as per the requirements of the end-users in those areas:
• Steam
• Water
• Compressed air
• Chilled water
• Conditioned air (including comfort air conditioning)
Also under the purview of this role is the effective and uninterrupted operation of the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) also known as the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP). The goal of these activities is primarily to support the business objective of cost efficient and uninterrupted production of safe and high-quality products.

• Provide utilities in such a way that product safety is guaranteed
• Carry out operations without violating local and global best-practice environmental standards
• Ensure that all utilities are provided consistently and that they meet the technical requirements of all end-users to support the achievement of business objectives
• Drive for optimum energy (conversion) efficiency and cost effectiveness in the operation of plant and equipment in scope, within the limits of the technology used.
• Provide strong leadership in the area of personal integrity, ethical compliance and legal compliance of all activities that the team is involved in
• Identify training and development needs of team members and implement or facilitate the process of meeting them.
• Ensure that a high standard of engineering practice is in place
• Reliable operation of plant and equipment such that use of spare parts.is optimized and inventory (working capital) is well managed.
• Regular review of the performance of plant and equipment with a view to initiating expansion/upgrade where necessary.
• Ensure that capital projects executed are within budget and achieve the stated objectives and benefits to the organization.
• Constant drive for improvement in processes and procedures using modern improvement techniques such as RCM, Lean Six Sigma, etc.

Education / Certifications:
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or a First Degree (B.Sc.) in Electrical &Instrumentation from a reputable institution.
Job specific requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years relevant post graduate working experience in the area of Electrical Services, instrumentation and a bit of control systems.
- The job holder must be a quick learner, have a strong sense of ownership, display a high level of customer-focused orientation, and be able to take responsibility for actions taken.
- Some level of experience in Project Management and the execution of capital projects would be an advantage.
